How Would You Spend
$96,000,000 ?

Here's how Akron schools will

The Akron Public School District has $96,000,000 in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds to spend.

This is money from the federal government as part of its CoViD-19 stimulus funding and must be spent by September 30, 2024.

The administration for the school district released it plans for spending these funds at the May 23 school board meeting.   Attendees included about 100 Akron teachers.

Examples of spending priorities include expansion of course offerings, reductions in class size, expansion of mental health and counselling services, and upgrading and repairing school buildings.
